One of six conversational sessions with inspiring social entrepreneurs leading through challenging times.

Social enterprises continue to make a measurable contribution to the economy . At SIS, we support these businesses and organisations and help them to continue to deliver their activity and thrive through our business support and investment.

A key priority is to ensure the sustainability of these impactful businesses especially through challenging times like the current cost of living crisis when the services and support they provide become stretched due to demand. The impact of rising costs, the wellbeing of staff and how this crisis will impact on their own organisation will ultimately sit on the shoulders of the leader as they strive to achieve solutions and the best possible outcomes. There will of course be some difficult decisions to be made, dealing with the unknown and situations as they arise on a more regular basis. It can be lonely and stressful time.

Leading through Challenging Times

This is the final session of six were we we'll be joined by an inspiring leader and social entrepreneur well known to the social sector. They will share their experiences and provide insights into strategic journey, operational challenges and in some instances the opportunities this might present.

There will always be the inevitable endless to do list for the day to day operations of the business and the team. This sits alongside their strategic role looking forward and planning for the future sustainability of their organisation this role becomes key during a time of crisis.

Costs to Customers - Rising costs and the current economic environment along with the combination of providing for and supporting the vulnerable in the community can sometimes mean it becomes difficult for those organisations to pass on costs to customers and they then try and absorb themselves. When and do they pass on those costs? To what extent is this sustainable for your organisation? What strategies are available and could be put in place to mitigate risk to the business and the vulnerable they are there to support? what if you are tied into a service delivery contract and there is no wiggle room? We discuss the options and considerations when the last thing you want to do is increase your product or service fee costs.
