Through a series of briefings we are here to provide business support to social enterprises, charities and impactful businesses tackling some of the tough and potentially challenging impacts of the cost of living crisis.

Managing future cash flow is an essential part of business everyday but it comes under great pressure, and in turn focus, during economic challenges. The current cost of living crisis is impacting a number of social enterprises and charities in a variety of ways but one of the main challenges is being able to understand the impact the current crisis may have on your cashflow and what that might mean for your organisation.

In this session, we will demonstrate a new cash flow model, which has been developed in conjunction with Johnston Carmichael, that has been designed to help organisations of any size manage their future cash flow in a simple and accessible way. We are also able to give access to this tool to a limited number of charities and social enterprises. Access to this tool can be given through emailing marketbuilding@socialinvestmentscotland.com after attending the session to find out more.

We will be joined by Social Investment Scotland's Head of Finance and Operations, Karen McBride

Karen joined SIS in 2022 as Head of Finance and Operations. Karen is a qualified CA, working predominately within the Audit sector where her last role was as an Audit Director with Johnston Carmichael LLP. She brings her experience of working with key stakeholders to help them deliver on their strategy whilst managing budgets, by understanding how their organisation operates and the key challenges it faces. Karen is passionate about helping organisations, and in particular, Social Enterprises achieve their purpose.

The workshop explained clearly what would be involved and that after the initial input it would only need updating… Overall, I found the workshop informative and the cash flow tool looks like it would save me a lot of time for a regular review of our cash flow. We use an old clunky spreadsheet that serves its purpose for budgets and projections but is not good for giving a quick review.
