Social Investment Scotland to ignite Dundee’s creative and cultural scene

04 Nov 2025

Leading responsible finance provider, Social Investment Scotland (SIS), is shining a spotlight on Dundee’s creative and cultural industries (CCI), offering local charities and social enterprises the chance to meet potential funders and explore support to increase their community impact.

The latest instalment in SIS’s Funding Socials event series will take place at the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre on Wednesday, 5th November, where social enterprises will have the opportunity to meet leaders in the arts, culture, and heritage sector and hear real-world insights into securing vital funding.

According to data published by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and Creative Scotland, there are as many as 3,500 charities in Scotland operating in the creative and heritage category as of 20251.

Experienced representatives from Creative Scotland, Museums Galleries Scotland, The Architectural Heritage Fund, Development Trusts Association Scotland and The National Lottery Heritage Fund will be available throughout the event, each offering valuable insights on funding opportunities and community development.

The event will be hosted by Peter Middleton, director at L&R Consulting, a consulting firm that provides advice on all aspects of museum development, business planning, and operations.

Kieran In Action

Kieran Daly, head of market building at SIS, said: “The creative and cultural sector is vital to Dundee and Tayside, protecting heritage and supporting local communities through cultural opportunities, education, social engagement and employment.

“With 25 years of experience supporting Scotland’s third sector, we at SIS know that providing access to the right support is crucial. Finance is a key part of that support, especially when funding opportunities in the arts and creative industries are particularly stretched. Our Funding Socials series is all about giving organisations and individuals the tools and confidence needed to fuel greater impact in the communities they work in.”
