Social Investment Scotland partners with Novel Solutions to offer three £1,000 bursaries supporting Scottish social entrepreneurs on transformational learning journey to Mumbai this November.

Social Investment Scotland (SIS) has announced a new partnership with Novel Solutions to launch three £1,000 bursaries for an immersive learning programme in Mumbai. The bursaries will support Scottish social entrepreneurs to participate in the £3,000 programme (flights excluded), designed to provide fresh perspectives on innovation in resource-constrained environments.

The November programme aims to help social entrepreneurs step outside their familiar environment to reconnect with their purpose and explore how extraordinary innovation emerges from limited resources. Participants will experience Mumbai's dynamic ecosystem where creative solutions to social challenges are developed daily.

The partnership reflects SIS's commitment to supporting diverse social entrepreneurs across all sectors, from education and healthcare to sustainability and economic inclusion.

Alastair Davis CEO, Social Investment Scotland said:

"This partnership with Novel Solutions represents an exciting opportunity to support Scottish social entrepreneurs in thinking differently about innovation and impact. Mumbai's ecosystem demonstrates how remarkable solutions can emerge from constraint and resourcefulness - lessons that are invaluable for social entrepreneurs working to create change in their own communities. We're delighted to make this transformational experience accessible to passionate changemakers who might not otherwise have this opportunity."

Applications are open to social entrepreneurs from across Scotland who are looking to gain new perspectives on their work and expand their approach to creating social impact.

The application process is competitive, with only the first 15 applications being considered. The deadline for applications is 4th July 2025, with successful candidates announced by 11th July.

Interested social entrepreneurs can apply here or contact Noel Matthias for further information about the programme.
