Strathdearn Community Developments has a clear vision for sustainable growth - one built on the advancement of community development through local enterprise, opportunity, and ownership.

Their work supports the creation of employment opportunities and the development of locally owned community facilities and businesses, including affordable homes, a shop, and a café. This vision extends across rural regeneration, health, youth and wellbeing, and the management of community-owned buildings and natural assets, such as locally owned and managed woodland.
Through investment from Social Investment Scotland, Strathdearn Community Developments was supported in the build of six affordable rental homes, designed specifically for families and retirees.
This project supports a rural community by responding directly to local housing needs, providing long-term benefits for both residents and the wider area.
The new homes:
- Address housing shortages in the local area
- Boost local infrastructure and the economy
- Support local employment and community wealth
- Are retained under community ownership to ensure affordability and long-term stability
By creating homes that remain affordable for generations to come, Strathdearn Community Developments is helping keep communities connected — strengthening the social and economic fabric of Strathdearn for the future.
"The affordable housing project is a vital step in sustaining our small community, the local primary school and locally owned assets, such as the newly acquired woodland. It has always been a great place to live and work, but with new facilities, there is even more to support a thriving community."
